Caradon Cobras swimmer Charlotte Toptani was all smiles after achieving double success at the Level Four Plymouth Sprint meet held in the Plymouth College Pool.

The nine-year-old from Callington, who attends the Plymouth College Junior School, was the only member from her club competing at the meet.

Charlotte suffered a disqualification in the 100-metre individual medley in her first final, but the Cornish youngster made up for this by twice finishing in front of Tiverton swimmer Emily Abraham to win the nine years 50-metre butterfly dan freestyle events.

Another Callington youngster, Alex Pester – competing for the Plymouth Leander club – impressed in the 14 years age group, and swept to victory in all five of his events.
