Ben Walker, one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world, according to Total Guitar magazine, is appearing at Calstock Arts on Sunday, June 23.

During the day he will be running a workshop aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists and in the evening he will be performing.

He is perhaps better known for his work with singer/songwriter Josienne Clarke, with whom he has recorded six albums. They were BBC Folk Award winners as a duo. Ben and Josienne have appeared together at Calstock Arts in the past for a hugely appreciative audience. He is also much sought after as a composer and arranger from punk to Proms with more than 50 albums behind him as a producer of other artists.

Ben’s first solo record, a simple instrumental EP, came out in 2018 and was immediately picked up by Mark Radcliffe for Radio 2. His album, Echo, will be released in July. He’s keen to share some lost treasures of our Folk heritage alongside his compelling original compositions.
