THOUSANDS of Easter Eggs will be making their way to low-income families in Cornwall thanks to a supermarket chain.
Each Aldi store in the county will be donating 50 chocolate eggs per day to local charities and foodbanks, and the scheme runs until April 11.
The company already works with community engagement platform, Neighbourly to donate surplus food to local charities and community groups at the end of each day.
Fritz Walleczek, managing director of Corporate Responsibility at Aldi said: ’We’re always looking for new and creative ways to increase the amount of food that we’re able to donate. Working with Neighbourly to donate Easter eggs to different groups and charities across the nation is a great way for us to bring a festive treat this Easter.’
