There's a 30mph speed limit for a reason in St Cleer – and this village needs humps not bumps

My family live in this idyllic small village which is a place of natural beauty, one where you want to raise your children.

However, there is one thing that brings this village down and that's the drivers who think of its roads as an extension of Silverstone.

These motorists, who drive at dangerous speeds, run the risk of hitting pedestrians. This has nearly happened to me on several occasions.

During the night, there are no street lights so when these boy and adult racers hare down the roads at possible speeds in excess of 80mph, they do not have full vision and would be unable to see someone stepping out into the road.

Given that there are many children walking about in the village, these racers pose a serious risk to their safety.

I thinks it's utterly unacceptable that in this day and age when there are many national campaigns which aim to bring to the attention of the public the dangers of driving at high speed, that these idiots still drive without a care about the people around them.

Measures are needed in this village that will bring safety to its residents especially its children and little animals.
