The six women from Looe who are taking part in the Dartmoor Jail Break on Saturday next, April 15, to raise money for cerebral palsy in support of a friend whose young child has been diagnosed with the illness, have hit out at what they believe to be the act of a heartless thief.

They recently held a highly successful raffle and auction at The Jolly Sailor, West Looe, which raised £620, but they discovered that someone has stolen cash in coins and notes amounting to another £48. The money had been placed on a seat inside a folder which also contained ID cards and sponsor forms.

Jail breaker Tracy Taylor said the money was only there for a few moments before it was discovered it had gone missing. 'We feel angry and upset that someone has stolen this money, it is after all stealing from a charity' she said. 'People had generously donated this'.

The women are appealing for the thief to show some remorse and return it anonymously to the pub or somewhere else in Looe, stating clearly what the money is for.
