Thanks to Looe wall-builders

I should like to pay tribute to two men who have rebuilt a retaining wall to the following property: The Bungalow, Shutta Road, East Looe. This following a major collapse in the Spring of '98.

In what were at times difficult circumstances, Mr Sean Marjeram and Mr Lee Provost have recreated the wall, beautifully faced with local stone. The contractors to the work, Messrs K R A & PW Warlen, are also to be congratulated.

As many 'locals' will know, it was not an easy job and would have been much harder but for the kind co-operation of neighbours who allowed their car spaces (a scarce commodity in Looe) to be used for vans and materials.

I would like to express my thanks to these good folk through your columns. The wall will undoubtedly stand as a lasting monument to the two men named. It isn't often these days that one finds such skills, well applied.
