Thanks from the Red Cross
I would like to take this opportunity to thank your readers and all the people of Cornwall for their tremendous support during this year's Red Cross Week (May 2-8).
Currently, the final figures are yet to be announced, but it looks as if, with this local support, Cornwall Branch has raised over £23,000.
This money will be used to help strengthen our services in Cornwall to help people in crisis. Our Medical Loan Service, for example, relies totally upon donations to provide wheelchairs and other essential equipment to those in short-term need.

In recognising the value of our work in the UK, this support has truly confronted the initial connection many make between the British Red Cross and international aid work.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to those who have helped in any way during Red Cross Week and who continue to support our work.
