SOME of the hottest weather for years in South East Cornwall is set to arrive in the next few days.
Temperatures are due to soar into the 80s giving local people and tourists a welcome boost after a series of soggy summers in recent years.
The barbecue summer weather will also be good news for local businesses reliant on tourism.
Mark Camp at Looe Tourist Information Centre said the sunny forecast had already been uploaded onto its website in a bid to attract visitors to book a weekend away.
'We are expecting an influx of visitors to enjoy the weather and the beach, which will be good for Looe,' he said.
This weekend South East Cornwall will be basking in warm sunny weather and then temperatures are set to rise still further, into the sizzling 80s.
Forecasters say Tuesday could reach a maximum of 28C (82.4F) and similar temperatures are expected for the rest of the week. One of the reasons for the good weather is that the jetstream, which comes across the Atlantic high up in the atmosphere, has moved a lot further north.
