FIFTEEN-year-old Jack Bartlett showed off some of his magic and card tricks to some of Torpoint's elderly. He gave a performance of his skills at Tamara Day Care Centre to more than 35 elderly people at their Christmas party. Jack, from Torpoint, started doing card tricks about two years ago and became more interested in magic when he went on holiday to Las Vegas and San Francisco. Jack said: 'There was a lot of "street magic" and a lot more television shows over in America showing magic. 'I picked up a lot of tips and skills over there.' One of the people watching his skills was his Gran, Betty Bartlett, who said: 'I think it is wonderful what he does. He comes down to me most nights to practice his skills.' As well as entertaining everyone, Jack, who attends Torpoint Community School, is doing this as part of his GCSE citizenship awards.
