The 20th annual teddy tumble has taken place at a church in South East Cornwall.
For the past two decades, teddy bears with parachutes have been dropped off the tower of St Melor’s in Linkinhorne.
The teddy tumble, organised by the 1st Linkinhorne Scout Group, forms part of the patronal festival at the church.
This year very little breeze proved an enormous advantage and meant that none of the bears ended up dangling from the high trees around the church.
The winners were: longest flight, adult, Peter Sharp; shortest flight, adult, Edward Doney; longest flight, child, Amy Robertson; and shortest flight, child, Sam Robertson.
During a tea, a 20th teddy tumble celebration cake made by Hilary Bootee was cut by scout chaplain Andrew Doney.
Thanks go to Sarah Doney, George Drew, Rachel Cottam, Gwenda Hanlan, Judy Cooper and others who contributed to the occasion.
The patronal festival began with the dressing of the holy well. A short walk to the well was attended by 20 people.
Flower arrangements created by Jill Piper were placed on the well and worship leader Judy Cooper conducted a service. A patronal service was conducted by lay reader Andrew Doney.
