SCHOOLS in South East Cornwall will be among those affected by national industrial action to be taken by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) on Wednesday, March 26.

The NUT has agreed a one-day strike against what it says are excessive workloads and bureaucracy in teaching, performance-related pay and changes to pensions. While Duloe Primary School has confirmed it will be closed, information for other primary and secondary schools in the area was not available as the Cornish Times went to press. Notice of the closures will be placed in the education section of Cornwall Council's website – and schools will be contacting parents to let them know of individual classes affected.
