IT’S that oh-so-crucial part of the match for which every single Cornish cricket player is at the peak of readiness: teatime.

And now a South East Cornwall club has hit the rest of the county’s teams for six over the scones, jam and cream.

St Neot Taverners Cricket Club has been declared the provider of the best cricket tea in Cornwall in the inaugural year of the Rodda’s ‘Afternoon Tea Cup’.

The team were presented with the Cornish creamery’s now coveted award before the Edwards Cup Final at Truro Cricket Club last week.

Rodda’s, in association with Cornwall Cricket, invited all 70 clubs in the county to compete for the ‘Afternoon Tea Cup’ for the first time this year.
