TRADERS in Liskeard are being asked to take part in a survey to find out their views on the Parking Refund Scheme which was introduced 12 months ago.
Under the scheme, all parking tickets bought in Cornwall Council car parks in the town have a 50p voucher attached which can be redeemed in more than 50 local shops and businesses on purchases totalling at least £10.
The traders reimburse the money and the council has paid the £2,000 needed to alter the parking meters.
The short online survey aims to find out how successful the scheme has been and is being undertaken by the Town Centre Partnership formed last year to take on the work begun by the former Town Team.
Partnership co-ordinator John Hesketh says the survey provides a chance for businesses to make comments about the scheme, to say what they would like to see being done differently, and to state whether they think the scheme improves the town's reputation for being welcoming and friendly.
'At a time when parking fees have been increased, and the £1 all-day Saturday charge controversially scra-pped, the refund scheme is seen as a valuable way to offset the cost of shopping in our town,' said Mr Hesketh.

website.
