Former BBC weatherman Craig Rich opened the Forder village fete in Saltash last Saturday, where crowds of people turned out to support the annual event. At the start of the afternoon, seven-year-old Faith Rogers and her brother, William, presented a bouquet of flowers to Craig and his wife, Pat, before Craig went on to judge the fancy dress competition with Mona Tomaszweska-Honywill. Winners Several children entered the competition and the winners were Jack Spry who came first, Lottie Rider- Wearne who won second prize, with the third prize going to Elliot Wearne. Cadets from Saltash Sailing Club took part in the traditional yacht races, and the Forder Shield went this year to Annalise Noakes who won the Toppers race. James Torr and George Watson were awarded the Warren Cup for the Pico yacht race. Around £1300 was raised from the afternoon which will go towards a new village hall.
