Dobwalls then came back strongly and Shane Ruark had his well struck shot tipped over the bar, minutes later Adam Nance hit the post when he connected with Matt Lindsays low cross from the right. Lindsay was then himself denied by the woodwork when his fierce drive came back off the crossbar just before half time. Meanwhile the home side had created chances of their own and could have increased their lead. Dobwalls were shocked to find themselves 2-0 down shortly after the restart when he a Charlestown forward headed home from close range in a crowded six yard box.
Playing down the slope suited Charlestown's route one style football and they stormed forward and every opportunity. However the back four of Daryl Hick, Lewis Freeman, Mark Dustin and Joel Tamblyn were equal to the challenge and made timely tackled. Replacing A Nooke and D Starr with T Dean and J Kennedy and switching Phil Benney from the left to the right flank gave Dobwalls a bit more guile and they gradually clawed their way back.
The deficit was reduced with 10 minutes remaining when Shane Ruark headed in a Mark Dustin corner. It was now game on, with end to end football and determined attacking and defending from both sides. Dobwalls got back on level terms with only minutes remaining through the in form Matt Lindsay. With the bit between their teeth Dobwalls stormed forwards and Lindsay was desperately unlucky when his clever lobb beat the Charlestown keeper but crept over the crossbar. Man of the Match was awarded to Phil Benney.
