Students held a five day fund-raising event and made more than £1,000 for charity.
Access to Health and Social Care students at Cornwall College Saltash presented a cheque to Children’s Hospice South West for £1,300.
They were inspired to help raise funds after researching the work CHSW does for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Nicola Connor said the event consisted of a cake sale, sweet sale, raffle and three students bravely shaving their heads and getting their backs waxed.
‘One member of staff also kindly contributed to the fund-raiser by adding funds that he had raised running a 10k,’ Nicola said.
‘The event was a great success and has given us the chance to experience team work in a professional capacity, something that most of us will be able to use in our respective career choices.’
