Close rivals St Eval came to Lux Park determined to avenge their early season U-10s defeat. Eagles have an impressive scoring record and it was soon evident that a make-shift home defence was facing stern examination.
Liskeard needed their front men to perform and didn't they just! So much so that it was the Eagles agile keeper who won the after match plaudits.
The Liskeard strike force of Leigh Gorski, Nathan Rice and Chris Warren were exceptional and kept the visiting keeper busy throughout.
Nathan and Chris were quick and clever. Leigh scented the space and having been found gave Liskeard a 1-0 lead.
More goals seemed inevitable but the clincher remained elusive. Lasting the pace well the Eagles were starting to show their claws. Throwing players forward they equalised following hesitating at the heart of the home defence.
In a nail biting last five minutes Liskeard came closest but not close enough. A point apiece, the fortess holds!
