Dobwalls, playing their last away game of the season at Biscovey, required nothing less than a win to keep them in with any chance of league honours.
With a strong wind behind them throughout the first half, Dobwalls produced a very lacklustre performance and it was Biscovey who took the game to Dobwalls creating the better chances. Biscovey took the lead after 20 minutes with a well-taken goal and with five minutes of the first half left should have extended their lead only to see a shot hit the post and rebound to safety.
Dobwalls came out for the second half in a different frame of mind and equalised early on after Adam Nance broke through the centre of the defence only to see his shot well saved by the keeper but the ball ran wide to Phil Benney who neatly tucked the ball away into the empty net.
Biscovey kept pressure on the Dobwalls defence without any success and it was Dobwalls who took the lead late in the half with a very fine solo goal down the left wing by Joe Kennedy. With this, Biscovey never relented, pounding the Dobwalls defence and with only a minutes left scored an excellent goal, from a shot outside the area which meant both teams sharing the spoils.
Dobwalls' man of the match award went to the ever reliable Phil Benney. Dobwalls, although having lost any chance of league honours for the season, play St Stephens away on the 2nd April in the semi-final of the cup. Kick-off time TBA.
