A STAR of cinema’s golden age will be celebrated as the Liskerrett Community Cinema marks 10 years of screenings.
Mae West pushed the boundaries in both her film-making and her life – and her writing and performances challenged the audiences of the day in the 1920s and 1930s. Salon du Cinema, presented by Rebecca Mordan, of Scary Little Girls, is an intimate evening of storytelling, performance and film, with Mae West at its heart.
The production includes live music, anecdotes about the star’s life and times, and readings from once banned and scandalous tales by Dorothy Parker, D H Lawrence and Mae West herself.
Salon du Cinema is at the Liskerrett Centre on Friday, September 29 (7.30pm).
