A show garden designed by Eden Project apprentices won a gold award and the prestigious Banham Cup for best overall show garden at the Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show, which finishes at the Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel today.

The garden is called Go Against the Tide and has been designed to evoke the abundant underwater life of estuaries.

It is the work of horticultural apprentices Jorin Lenz-Williams, Sean Paramore and Hope Browne under the supervision of Eden horticulturists Emma Gunn and Riyah Snow, herself a former Eden apprentice.

It features plants chosen to mimic aquatic life.

Emma Gunn said: ’All our hard work paid off and I couldn’t be more proud of the team.’

We’ll have coverage of the show in the new print edition of the Cornish Times, on sale this coming Friday.
