CHAT celebrated the end of a busy and successful year on Wednesday, with a special gathering at Tamara. At an earlier meeting in November, the failure to get the new CHAT Directory delivered to every household in the area was highlighted. The organisation has gathered 300 signatures from people who did not receive one. Other items discussed were the number of bottles that are not recycled, because they come from pubs and clubs. Colin Breed has told CHAT that this situation should be resolved during 2005. The organisation has written to Caradon to complain about the state of the public toilets on Antony Road. CHAT will also be asking Caradon to keep up the initial financial support for the Sports Hall for three years. The organisation had received a letter to congratulate Torpoint's new street cleaner, who has been very conscientious, even keeping the back lanes in much better condition. The CHATLINK coffee morning raised £146 for Children In Need, and the shop will make a donation of £300 towards the Youth Partnership Newsletter. The luncheon club remains very successful, only meeting during December on Monday, December 13, because of the trip to Blackpool later in the month. There will be a walk today, Friday, December 3 at Seaton Valley. Anyone is welcome to join the group, that will meet at the Carbeile Inn at 10.15am. For further information, contact Margaret on 01752 812029. The organisation's next meeting will be at the Torpoint Clinic on Wednesday, February 2, and everyone is welcome.
