For the two years of her contract Sophie will be playing in the new Exeter City girls' Futsal team which is a new and exciting variation on the 11-a-side game.
The sport is sweeping the nation and could feature in the 2016 Olympics.
Success
Sophie, 15, will be playing in a competitive Futsal league with Exeter as they will be competing against some of the biggest names in football like newly-promoted Premiership teams Southampton and Reading.
Sophie's love for the game of Futsal grew after she captained Liskeard to success in the Cornwall Girls u16 Futsal County Cup and won the right to represent Cornwall at the South West Regional Futsal Championships.
It was after this success that Exeter City got in contact and invited her for a trial with the club. At trials Sophie impressed the coaching staff and has now become the only player from Cornwall to be offered a contract.
Sophie has been playing football in Liskeard since the age of seven, first playing in teams with boys and then for the last five years playing in the town's girls' teams.
During this time Sophie has spent time at the Cornwall Girls Centre of Excellence and is now a key young leader within Liskeard Girls FC.
Liskeard Girls FC said everyone is very proud of Sophie's achievements, wishing her all the best as she embarks on this new, exciting chapter.
