Lanreath 1
Dobwalls 2
LESS than an hour before kick off, it was decided by the referee and both clubs to transfer the game to Lantoom Park as the Lanreath pitch was badly waterlogged in places.
The Dobwalls committee all pitched in to enable the game to go ahead. After days of heavy rain it was surprising to see the pitch free of any standing water, although the surface was sticky but effectively playable.
Dobwalls dominated the opening exchanges but it was Lanreath who took the lead when veteran John Harris was upended in the penalty area.
Christian Merrin made no mistake from the spot kick sending the keeper the wrong way.
In the second half Lanreath made use of their extra man to push forward but were thwarted by some resolute defending by the experienced back three of Willie Williams, Martin Jordan and Paul Gerry, who all ran themselves into the ground.
On the hour Dobwalls broke from deep and another cracking ball into the box by Colin Barrett found Glen Toms who had made a well timed run.
His first time shot was superbly saved by Rodney Stokes, however, the ball rebounded off the crossbar to Toms who fired home the winner to put Dobwalls on top of the Premier League and extend their unbeaten league run.
The team has not lost a game since December 2nd 2000.
Martin Polatch received the man of the match award for a great performance, but all ten players made huge contributions to achieve this result against all odds as did the three replacements that were introduced as the heavy conditions took its toll.
Lanreath are a much improved side and will surely pull away from the relegation zone.

Pensilva 0
St Columb Minor 2
AFTER last week's great result Pensilva changed things for this game, Malcolm Thomas went with the seconds and on the field Pens made three positional changes.
The first half went mostly the way of the visitors, but Pens hung on with some gritty tackling and even carved out a pair of chances themselves.
Half time came and for some reason the home side made a tactical change, and this proved a turning point as St Columb started to find more space, their players even questioning the change in the after match debate.
Pens needed a hundred percent from everyone and it did not happen. The back line was reshuffled and minutes later the visitors opened the scoring. The game continued in the same vain with Pens looking unlikely as they pushed for the equaliser they got caught again as St Columb make it two up.
So the big questions of the day are why change a team that worked so hard for victory the week before?
And why change it tactically when at lease a point may have been on the cards?
As to man of the match it must go to Danny Skews who improved throughout the game finding feet with his passes and putting in a hundred percent unlike some who must have thought they were on a cruise ship as passengers.
Pens now have crucial games against St Teath and Lanreath which they must get something out of before the eagerly awaited return with Callington.
St Stephens Bor 3
Tideford 2
BOROUGH won their first ever game against Tideford after many battles with their local rivals.
Tideford took the lead after 15 minutes with a Borough mix up. Borough then decided to play and missed a few chances before Chris Allmett scored from the penalty spot to make it one each. Chris Driscoll put Borough 2-1 up after good work by Phil Screech.
Tideford drew level soon after, Borough then stepped up the pace. Phil Screech again made a great run down the left to find Chris Jones (ex Tideford player) to net the winner.
Both teams played at a high standard and you would not think it was a Division 4 game. gary Homer had another fine game in goal.
Tomorrow (Sat Dec 8th) Borough are at home to Bude in the Junior Cup. Kick off 2pm.

Pelynt 9
Queens Rangers 2
QUEENS travelled to Pelynt knowing that only three weeks ago they buried they lonely position to record an easy victory on home turf, against a high flying Pelynt side.
The visitors started how they finished the previous meeting by scoring twice in the first 20 minutes, amongst some disastrous defending by the home team.
Eventually, Pelynt started to find their rhythm and Trevor scored with a fine finish.
It means he need one more goal to make an impressive 200 for the club.
He did not have to wait much longer as he converted a penalty to pull Pelynt level and claim his double.
Now in total control the home side ended the half with goals from Phil Hearnden and Trevor completing his hat-trick.
Although never dropping their heads, Queens were being over run in all departments and two further goals from Trevor and a first goal (header) in his year-old silver boots for Eddie!
This was the catalyst for a flurry of substitutions from the home team as the goal scoring continued with a first Pelynt goal for Tom Sutherland and appropriately Trevor finishing the game off to complete a double hat-trick.
This was sweet revenge for Pelynt after their defeat to Queens previously and keeps them in the hunt for honours at the end of the season.
Thanks go to local celebrity match ball sponsor John Snowden for his contribution to this momentous occasion.
