Dobwalls.........................................3
THE end of season fixture congestion continued in midweek with a local derby with Dobwalls injury ravaged squad making the short journey to St Dominic.
The standard of many of the pitches has suffered with the constant use and are now rutted and with the drying weather could soon become dangerous.
The visitors got off to a good start, and scored after only two minutes when the keeper fumbled, and alert Scott Brown latched onto the loose ball and scored from an acute angle.
Constant pressure produced several chances for the visitors but with the help of the uneven surface they were all squandered until centre half Mark (Marigold) Fielder glided down the left flank mesmerising several defenders with elegant footwork. He finished off by floating in a perfect cross for Andy Sheer to volley home.
St Dominic made several counter attacks from deep in their own half and created a number of half chances, one of which brought out a superb one handed save from Dave Skews although the rebound fell to Woods who somehow missed the open net.
After the restart a fluent move saw Martin 'goal machine' Polatch rifle a shot into the roof of the net from the corner of the penalty area to give Dobwalls a three goal cushion and make his personal tally 49 for the season.
The rest of the game went by without too much incident the visitors within a point of securing the runners up spot.
On a difficult pitch it was difficult for the committee to select a man of the match as everyone had to graft hard. The deserving winner was Scott Brown who hardly ever has a bad game.

Dobwalls........................................8
THE home side who are deep in relegation trouble entertained free scoring Dobwalls and unfortunately for the basement side the visitors were in buoyant mood scoring five goals in the first twenty minutes.
As early as the first minute a cross in by Francis Cater was met on the volley by Scott Brown to open the scoring. Cater himself scored to make it two after seven minutes. Worse was to follow as Dobwalls found the target twice in a minute to double their lead. The first was a thunderbolt from Rob Cole from all of thirty five yards and Johnny Niblett had a similar effort from 25 yards. In the 20th minute Martin Polatch scored his fiftieth goal of the campaign to make it five. With time running out in the first half a first time through ball by Scott Brown found Andy Sheer in space and he calmly side footed a shot past the advancing keeper to make it six.
The visitors took their foot off the pedal in the second half and St Teath who to their credit never gave up pulled a goal back.
Scott Brown who had another impressive game scored his second with biggest cheer of the day coming when Daniel Skews scored his first goal for the club at the second attempt. Johnny Niblett who had been substituted, stripped off his shirt and ran across to congratulate the players much to the disapproval of the referee who refrained from producing a card.
This result means the Dobwalls are now officially runners up and have scored 101 goals in 23 matches which must be amongst the highest ever scored in a season with still three games to be played in the current campaign.
Gordon Moxham received the coveted Man of the Match award which was a tightly contested affair with a number of players scoring highly in the voting.
Newmoor.....................................0
Lanreath.....................................1
LANREATH started this game well but found it hard to control the ball on what must be the worst pitch in the League.
With only five minutes gone Nicky Collins ran past the Newmoor defence trying to play the offside game, only to bring out a good save from the keeper. Lanreath were still attacking and from a corner Dave Swift scored the only goal of the game with a header into the bottom corner of the goal.
From then on Newmoor who are trying to avoid the drop into Division One had to attack but because of the state of the pitch could not play any good passing football so resorted to the long ball over the top but the Lanreath defence of Matt Julian, Paul Haddock, Dean Hawken and Danny Mason never really had much trouble.
Newmoor started the second half the better but never really troubled Russell Hale in goal with only long shots because of the hard work of Lanreath's midfield of John Harris, Justin Dudley and Jim Moynan.
Andy Collins for Lanreath had the best chance when he picked up a pass from Dudley and ran through but just as he was about to shoot the ball hit a bump only and the chance missed

Polperro on top
Polperro......................................2
Gunnislake..................................0
TWO goals in the final ten minutes saw to it that Polperro came out on top in this fixture which brought together two of the divisions promotion chasing sides.
Over the course of the competitive 90 minutes the hosts deserved their victory. In the continued injury enforced absence of regular keeper Andy Woodward, Mark Southcott went in goal. Southcott made a handful of good saves but was helpless on the goals, each being well taken finishes.
On the night Gunnislake failed to turn their decent openings into efforts on the Polperro goal which was rarely threatened.
Saturday sees promotion chasing rivals St Minver visit Gunnislake for a 3:00pm kick off.
Before this game Gunnislake will have travelled to Pensilva and played the Polperro return fixture.
St Dennis.......................................1
Polperro......................................4
A good all round performance by Polperro easily winning this away fixture killing the game off in the first half hour with goals from Phil Bain, Jason Richardson and Kev Faulkner.
The second half was a scrappy affair with plenty of bookings and one dismissal. With Polperro down to 10 men they sealed victory with a fine solo goal by veteran forward kevin Faulkner.
Hopefully Polperro can keep this going in the final three games of the season and finish in the top two.
Man of the Match for breaking his duck in front of goal - Phil Bain.
DOBWALLS......................................2
BISCOVEY........................................1
DOBWALLS fielded a number of young players against the current junior cup champs taking the lead through the youngest of themwhen Alex Lindsay dispossessed a defender and from his far post cross Francis cater picked his spot.
Biscovey levelled when the home defence failed to clear. Biscovey pressed in the second half but Dobwalls weathered the storm. Stuart Lobb made a string of saves to keep his side level until a mix-up saw an attempted header back by a defender beat the keeper to give Dobwalls the lead.
Scott Brown received the man of the match award. With only a couple of League matches to go Dobwalls will be looking to get their injury hit squad fit for the ko cup semi-final in two weeks time.
The team would like to thank match sponsor Baco Metal Centres and the Highwayman for a lovely spread of food for players and officials who appreciate their continued support.
