YOUNG people from Millbrook rolled into action for the official opening of the village's newly upgraded skate park. The skate park has had exciting new equipment installed including GBH Ramps, a mini ramp, a spine ramp and box, two grind rails and two grind boxes. The first phase of Millbrook Skate Park, which included tarmacing the area and providing basic equipment, was completed in February thanks to fundraising by the Millbrook Extreme Skaters and residents. The project also benefited from grants from Millbrook Parish Council, Viridor Tax Credits, Cornwall County Playing Fields, Community Health Around Torpoint (CHAT), Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Lions Club, Samworth Brothers (Ginsters), SS Gas and Millbrook Festival Committee. Early this year the skate park hit the jackpot when Caradon secured a Big Lottery Fund grant of £28,995 to fund the second phase. Millbrook Parish Council upgraded the footpaths in the park, while Pennon Group plc donated towards seating.
