A disused landfill site will reopen in two months time and receive all of the 300,000 tonnes of waste that Cornwall produces every year.
Cornwall Council announced this week that Connonbridge landfill site in East Taphouse will be reopened to take all of the county's household and commercial waste from November 1.
Currently, the site is used as a transfer station for rubbish which eventually ends up at the United Mines landfill site near Redruth, which must close on October 31.
