The planning application for 14 semi detached homes on a Caradon site at Lanchard in Liskeard by the Guinness Trust came to the western sub committee on January 13 and attention was given to the petition and objections registered by nearby residents.

The scheme is important to Caradon Council as the completed properties could be available for renting to wait listed applicants on the Council's housing lists.

Approval therefore had been recommended but under the consultation process considerable concerns have been registered.

Local members noted the extent of the protests concerning the impact of the development on the adjoining properties and the opinions that the scheme was a dramatic over dense proposal with heavy implications on the traffic using the Lanchard roads.

It was then decided that a site meeting should be held, the date being fixed for January 24.
