Local exhibitors were hard at work from early yesterday morning preparing for the first day's judging at the Royal Cornwall Show.

Light showers did nothing to deter the crowds arriving for the show, held at the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association's showground on the outskirts of Wadebridge.

Show secretary Chris Riddle told the Cornish Times all the signs were that the 2011 event would be a real success.
