On Sunday Luxulyan Village Hall was host to the County Under 25's Singles championships. A total of 19 entrants from across the county competed in a round robin competition to find eight bowlers to go forward to a knockout competition.
The four group winners were Claire Wills (Cubert) 6 pts +17 shots, Luke Foster (Goldsithney) 6 +25, Darren Woolner (Saltash) 6 +31 & Mark Woolner 5 +6, they were joined in the quarter finals by Ryan Curtis (Cubert) 4 +3, Darren Yates (Luxulyan) 4 +8, Nicholas Truscott (St Mawes) 4 +15 & Spencer Lawrence (Treviscoe) 4 +17.
After some closely fought matches the final was contested by Darren Woolner from Saltash and Ryan Curtis from Cubert with Darren taking the win 12-5.
This was Darren's second triumph in this competition after winning in the
1996/7 season.
