The second leg of the summer six final was contested at Dobwalls on Sunday between a side from Altarnun and a team from Dobwalls, the first leg having been taken by Altarnun. The format of the competition is two teams of three playing two games in each leg.
In the first game of the second leg, the Dobwalls team, comprising Lin Newton, Miriam Barbery and Derek Newton were involved in a very close game but ran out winners by 10 shots to nine after leading 10-4 on the seventh end of a 10-end game.
The second game was a very one-sided affair with the Dobwalls team of Rob Rawlings, Brenda Sleep and Steve Wilkins winning 19-2.
The evening was rounded of with presentations to the Dobwalls team by Mr Phil Thomas of the Liskeard club and presentations by the Chairman of the Cornwall SMBA, Mr Fred Coleman to the Dobwalls singles champion Brenda Sleep and runner-up Lin Newton, while the pairs champions were Derek Newton and Steve Wilkins and runners-up Graham Sleep and Margaret Bennetts.
