A YOUNGSTER who was cared for at Derriford Hospital’s Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has raised hundreds of pounds for the team that looked after her.
Eleven-year-old Shea Jackson, from Callington, helped to raise £657 for the NICU ‘Keep me close’ appeal.
With her family, Shea served up hot drinks and cakes, and sold biscuits, pasties and an array of sweet treats when she hosted her fourth annual charity coffee morning.
Shea, who chose to help a cause close to her heart, said: ‘My brother and I are both members of the NICU family.’
The appeal aims to raise £2m to provide accommodation for parents who have children being cared for in the unit in Plymouth.
