Looe Sailing Club
Plymouth-based duo Peter Scott and son Tom, new members to Looe Sailing Club's Mirror class, showed the rest of the fleet a clean pair of heels aboard the aptly-named Rocket – and have undoubtedly raised the bar for the coming season.
Matt and Daisy Jaycock tried to outfox the newcomers, but in the end settled for a second place, having had one eye on arch rivals Team Bowdler, who ultimately finished a close third.
Meanwhile, in the Enterprise class, another duel in the sun took place, with Francis Marshall and crew Sally Greenwood charting the right south-westerly wind course, to take top spot, ahead of rivals Robert and Bianca Libby in second place.
The old fox, Graham Sargent, returned to the bay and crewed for son Steve as they gained a podium position.
