COMPETITION at the National Scorpion Championships in Looe Bay was so intense that, going into the final ninth race of the week-long series, any one of four boats could have won the title.
And so successful was Looe Sailing Clubs org-anisation, plus the towns warm welcome for its additional 300-plus visitors, that among the many cards, e-mails and verbal bouquets received in the resort was one which said simply: Please can we come back again!
Castle Coves Nick Keast, who crewed for the Weymouth clubs former National champion John Mursell, may have been pipped to another title by just one point but he showed no hint of disappointment with his praise of the resort.
