PUPILS, staff and parents at Pensilva Primary School were celebrating a 'Good' Ofsted report as the Spring term drew to a close.

Pupil behaviour, quality of teaching and the leadership of the school were all singled out for praise in the inspectors' report, said the school, speaking ahead of the report's publication by Ofsted.

Inspectors found that children enjoy learning at Pensilva, and are keen to do well.

Pupils say they feel comfortable at school 'because everyone is friendly'.

One child told inspectors: 'We are part of a team, because everyone works together to help each other.'

In terms of its Ofsted report, it has been a rapid turnaround for Pensilva, which was deemed to 'require improvement' following its last inspection of March 2013.

Headteacher Teresa Clinick said: 'We are delighted with the Ofsted report.

'This is recognition of the commitment and teamwork of everyone, including staff, governors, parents and, of course, the children.'

Craig Vaughnley, chairman of the board of governors, said: 'I am proud that Pensilva Primary School has been rated as Good.

'The staff and pupils and governors should be proud of this achievement and I look forward to continuing our development together as we strive for outstanding.'
