SALTASH.net Community School has been delving into the world of political scandal, chaos and corruption for their production of Nikolai Gogol's satirical classic, The Government Inspector. The Russian play, much-studied at A Level and beyond, tells the story of when a young visitor to a provincial town is assumed to be a rather important Government Inspector. Snobbery and inefficiency are ruthlessly exposed in a comedy that has amused and scandalised audiences for more than 150 years and still remains as topical as ever. Produced by Head of Drama, Jill Price, the play, which opened this week, will have it's final performance tonight at 7.30pm (Friday, January 21).
