Fame at club

PUPILS of Saltash community school have taken part in a production of the musical 'Fame' at the China Fleet Club.

They created their own scenery for the production, and worked on the performance with professional dance and drama teachers Laura Fleet and Deborah Bond.

The pupils put on the musical in the dance studio at the club, this watched by 48 family and friends.

Research funds

COLLECTIONS in Saltash for the Cancer Research Campaign have resulted in £154.98 being raised through a street collection, with house to house collections bringing in £460.90.

The committee thanked all who had supported the campaign, and the collectors.

Car boot sale

CROSS Park Pre-school in Callington are to hold a car boot sale in the car park at St Stephen's School on July 21 from 2pm.

The charges will be £4 for cars and £5 for vans.

Cash for tracksuits

SALTASH Partnership has agreed to give Saltash United Juniors £250 from the Community Chest fund for their tracksuits, with the Winkle Fair receiving £250. A proposal was made for funding from Saltash Rotary for £400 towards provision of signs at Latchbrook, Callington Road and Fore Street. It was agreed more details should be ascertained before a decision on this application was made.

Donkey venue switch

A DONKEY derby, to be held at Kimberley Stadium, Saltash, on July 22, has been switched to Saltash college grounds in Church Road. The derby at 2.30pm, organised by 2nd Saltash Scout Group, had to have a change of venue because seeding of grass had not taken in time.

Mosiacs money

MEMBERS of Saltash Partnership have been told that Caradon council has agreed to give £2,500 towards another set of mosaics in Saltash.

The mosaics will probably be on the opposite wall to where the present mosaics are situated over the Saltash tunnel approach road.
