Boost for research
Mary Hough and her concert dance group gave a concert at the Church Rooms, Saltash, on Saturday, with proceeds going to Cancer Research.
Dressed in costumes of the British Isles and Cornwall, the company was thanked by Marjorie Schikowsky, secretary of Cancer Research, Saltash. The concert raised £75.
Planning appeal
An appeal has followed a refusal by Caradon council regarding a planning application for a site on land at Penthouse Flat, Regal Court, Saltash. The appeal, by F Phillips, will be dealt with by the written representation method.
Posies for mums
A Mothering Sunday service is to be held at Fowey Parish Church this Sunday at 11am.
During the service posies of flowers and cards will be presented to children (both old and young) to give to their mothers.
Theft charge
The former clerk at the Looe Harbour Office, Adrian Sargent of Looe, is to appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court today (Friday). He is charged with the theft of monies of an unknown value belonging to the Harbour Commissioners.
