St Anne’s Care Home in Saltash has been rated outstanding by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
St Anne’s, which cares for up to 33 residents, received outstanding ratings in four of the five categories and were praised for delivering excellent ‘person-centred care’ and ‘understanding the needs of the people they supported.’
The inspection report, acknowledged that residents were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives; benefitted from dementia friendly themed corridors; enjoy intergenerational initiatives with schools and had the use of technology to increase their independence with wifi available in all rooms. Virtual Reality headsets enable residents to have experiences they would not usually be able to have.
In the CQC inspection which is on the regulator’s website, a healthcare professional said: ’I think people are extremely lucky to live here. The environment really is wonderful. The surroundings are very good indeed. So much to look at and occupy people.’
