THE Monkey Sanctuary Trust will invade the Eden Project next month for an evening of South American culture. The trust will be holding a salsa night - including food, music and a salsa lesson - at the tourist attraction to help fund and raise awareness of its work. Many of the monkeys at the sanctuary are native to South America but were sold as pets in the UK, only to be found living in appalling conditions. Gill Maltby, fundraiser for the Monkey Sanctuary, said: 'It is vital we raise income in order to expand our territories because at the moment there are many monkeys in need of our care and we simply do not have the provisions and space to accommodate them. 'We need to educate people and increase support for our campaign to stop the primate pet trade in Britain entirely.' The Salsa night runs from 7.30pm till midnight in November 13.
