RACE 8 - series II - Div 2A. Sponsored by South West Yacht Brokers Group. The night of patience paid off. With little or no wind and thick mist covering the Sound, the yachts set off on a course that kept them close to the Club.

Yachts in Div 2A had a reasonable first round with Cathy leading all the way, half way through the second round, the wind dropped, leaving most of the yachts becalmed. Netties patience gave way and she retired but the other stalwarts stuck it out, only to find the wind filling in and providing spectators with a close finish.

Results: 1st - Krackerjack (Alan Blackmore); 2nd - Pipsqueak (Tim Burke); 3rd - Cathy (Joe Snowdon); 4th - Trio; 5th - Athena; 6th - Harry Furlong; Retired - Nettie.

Race 8 - series II - Div 2B. Sponsored by South West Yacht Brokers Group. As in Division 2A, the yachts in Division 2B sailed close to the Club House.

Pete Cooper in Florence crept ahead and just managed to keep his boat moving, whilst the rest of the fleet moved generally in a backwards direction. Whilst Florence managed to cross the finish line, all the other yachts with the exception of Crisp retired. Crisp stuck it out and managed to catch the increase in wind to finish second.

Results: 1st - Florence; 2nd - Crisp; Retired - Pencirrus, Macavity & Ladybird.
