St. Day, relegated from Cornwall One, and Lankelly, bottom of Cornwall Two took advantage of this friendly fixture to give a game to players outside their league squads.

St. Day were by far the stronger outfit numerically and physically, and outplayed the Fowey side but Lankelly never gave up, tackling bravely - particularly in the closing minutes when they were determined to deny St. Day their ton.

St. Day took the lead in the opening minutes with a try by Karl Bone, converted by Matthew Downing but Lankelly immediately replied with a try by newcomer Matthew Walters converted by Julian Shakerly. St. Day then took command and scored a further five tries before the interval, Downing converting three.

In the second half St. Day scored a further 10 tries with Downing converting five. In addition to Bone their try scorers were Clive Richards (three), Scott Trevithick, Kevin Pooley (Two), Matthew Downing, Mark Williams (two), Michael Lawry, Robert Risbridger, Damian George (two), Brett Evans and Darren Mugford.
