What a difference a week makes! The previous Saturday in the Cup, Roseland had snatched victory by a single point in injury time. Lankelly were optimistic of gaining revenge. Roseland were apprehensive. They need not have been. With the gale force wind behind them they rushed to a 45-0 half time lead with little resistance from a lack lustre Lankelly.
The Fowey side failed to take advantage of the conditions in their favour in the second half when Roseland added a further five tries to their first half seven and it was only in the last quarter that the Fowey side really competed. Roseland's try scorers were Darren Ould (five), Guy Chapple (two), Charles Chilcott, David Bennett, Roger Teague, Malcolm Foster and Rob Ferris who also converted seven.
