The strength in depth available at Moorlands Lane - where they speak not about how many second team players they had on first team duty, but of the team that played on the day - was again much in evidence as Saltash completed a busy league and cup weekend with two trips to west Cornwall on consecutive days.

Saltash had first use of the slope and motored into a 3-17 half time lead after Neil Westerman cancelled out Matthew Downing's early penalty for St Day, then converted his own try, and added the extras after Peter Congo dotted down outside the right hand post.

The second half was a complete mirror image of the previous weeks home encounter with Illogan Park, and things could have got out of hand. But much too street wise for the opposition, Saltash kept their shape and discipline and Westerman underlined their superiority with two more penalties.
