Downderry's Helen Wilson, on Spring Mist, took the honours at the East Cornwall Riding club's Combined Training competition at the Duchy College, Stoke Climsland on March 5.
Helen claimed the two premier dressage events, winning the class three novice 21 open with 133 points, and then scooping top prize with 150 points in the novice test 30 class.
Another local rider, Lesley Bennett, on the homebred Pengelly Gal, was placed third in the novice test 30 dressage notching a creditable 147 points. Lesley is a teacher at the college and, like Helen, a member of the riding club.
Organisers said they were delighted at the number of competitors who entered the eight classes at the indoor centre, although it is still only early in their season.
On April 15 the club will hold their Easter indoor showing jumping at the college, this being open to all competitors. The next combined training will be at Horningtops on April 30, and schedules for both events can be obtained from programme secretary, Revis Crowle, on 01503 240680.
