Eagle eyed youngsters have helped to reunite a woman with a much-loved bracelet.

Clair Bale and her family had been visiting East Looe Beach on Bank Holiday Saturday for the first time in six years. They were just about to head home when unbeknown to Clair, her bag had ripped and her Pandora bracelet and gold ring had fallen out.

Clair’s daughter Megan posted about the lost jewellery on social media and her mum offered £250 to the RNLI if anyone could find it.

In the meantime, Sammie Sinkins and her children had also been in East Looe, and while exploring the beach, children Faradae, Ella-rose and Reuben spotted a missing bracelet in the sand.

“Through social media posts and replies to the RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station page and several Looe facebook groups, we were able to put Clair in touch with Sammie,” said a spokesperson for Looe RNLI.

“What a great find by our future crew treasure hunters - and we know Clair is so grateful to you for your efforts to find the owner of the bracelet.

“Unfortunately, her rose gold pandora ring was not with the bracelet. Faradae, Ella-rose and Reuben were able to tell Clair where they found the bracelet, which turned out to be close to the spot on East Looe beach that Clair and her family were using over the Bank Holiday.”

Clair met up with Sammie and her family in Plymouth to be reunited with the bracelet, and then decided to head back to Looe to spend the rest of the day on the beach in hopes of finding the ring.

“During the day in Looe, Clair met up with our lifeboat press officer, Ian Foster, at the station, to thank us for helping to put her in contact with Sammie.

“Clair was delighted to be wearing her bracelet which has great sentimental value for her. Clair told Ian that she was aware of our Looe Lifeboat Appeal and wanted to make a £250 donation to help us to bring the Ollie Naismith II to Looe.

“Thanking Clair on behalf of our RNLI volunteer crew for her very generous donation, Ian said we were all keeping our fingers crossed that her ring will be found.

“If anyone does find the missing ring, please let us know and we will put you in contact with Clair.”
