ANGRY residents from Millendreath have staged a protest outside Caradon District Council offices about the development of their village. Golden Thompson and other residents from Millendreath went to the council chamber on Wednesday evening. They are angered by the lack of consultation they have had with the council and developers Espalier. Plans are being drawn up to redevelop Millendreath by building houses, a hotel and a complex on the seafront. A two-day workshop was held by Espalier for residents last month but Mr Thompson said a public meeting between them and Caradon is needed. 'No public consultation was ever carried out,' said Mr Thompson. 'Espalier put its proposals to some residents of Millendreath who were interested but when residents got angry about the proposed development, Espalier decided not to discuss the matter further,' he added. 'Has Caradon and its councillors got the courage to hold a public meeting over this housing development at Millendreath?'
