Almost every town and village across South East Cornwall has taken part in events for Remembrance and people of all ages have been involved.
In this week’s Cornish Times, out on Friday, we will be publishing pictures and reports from many of the activities that have been going on to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Lanreath was typical of the local communities that have pulled together to pay their respects to the fallen and celebrate peace. A concert at St Marnarch’s Church, given by Lanreath Community Music, was attended by more than 100 people. Around 40 performers ranging in age from 12 to 89 performed pieces associated with wartime as well as excerpts from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man - a Mass for Peace.
Meanwhile, St Neot Primary School children are among the many youngsters who have been learning about the war of 1914-18 in class. Pupils created pennants to form a chain of bunting for the church, and their written work was on display during the week leading up to Remembrance Sunday.
