ROYAL British Legion members and standard-bearers from across South East Cornwall are to play their part in the Great Pilgrimage 90 visit to the Flanders battlefields from tomorrow (Sunday) to Thursday (August 9).
GP90 is designed to mark 90 years since the original Royal British Legion Pilgrimage in 1928, that saw 11,000 war veterans and war widows visit the battlefields of the Somme in France and Ypres in Belgium, a decade after the conflict ended.
Among those laying tributes at the Menin Gate will be Jason Bond and June Trevithick of the Callington and District RBL branch.
