The 520th anniversary of the execution of Cornish rebellion leader Thomas Flamank, who was hung, drawn and quartered on June 27, 1497, took place at Bodmin.

Organised by Andrew Hawke of The Cornish Nationalist Party, the commemoration started at the Flamank Stone in Fore St where up to 40 people attended.
A procession then followed up to the Flamank Stone at Town Wall where a further 20 people were waiting.
Wreaths were layed at both locations by invited guests who included Sara Kinsman, Mayor of Bodmin. Matt Blewitt from Kernow Matters To Us, and Merv Davey, Grand Bard of the Cornish Gorseth along with John Chapman, former Mayor of Bodmin.
There was singing of Trelawny before an evening of Cornish story-telling took place at the Masons pub to finish the commemoration.
The Cornish Nationalist Party are already planning next year’s event.
