In the Cornish Times newsroom we’ve again been busy producing three editions of your favourite local paper packed with news: the main edition, and the recently launched Saltash and Bodmin editions.

The main edition leads with the news that police have been carrying out breathalyser tests in pubs in a bid to debunk myths over drink-driving and to highlight its dangers.

Patrons at three Liskeard pubs were breathalysed and some were surprised by the results.

The Saltash edition leads with news that the first trees to take root as part of a major Cornish project to help combat the effects of climate change are to be planted in the town next week.

Inside we also have lots of pictures from the Saltash Christmas Festival lights up event which attracted thousands of people.

The Bodmin edition leads with the story that elderly residents of sheltered housing in Bodmin have become so fed up with problems at the flats that they have launched a petition calling for action.

In all editions we also have the story of a pair of vintage motorbike racers from South East Cornwall who have broken USA land speed records against the dramatic backdrop of the Bonneville Salt Flats in Western Utah.

In our 999 local emergency services incidents section we also report that police are appealing for witnesses following a tragic collision at Par in which a 31-year-old chef died.

We also talk to the chairman of Looe Harbour Commissioners, who has responded to a recent article about ghost fishing gear by explaining the great care local fishermen go to in order to ensure plastics and other waste don’t end up polluting the sea.

We also have pictures of youngsters in Torpoint receiving their silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, a St Blazey acting duo receiving a special award from the Cornwall Drama Association, and a Saltash Royal British Legion stalwart receiving a gold badge in recognition for his years of service.

There are also lots of photographs from festive events like the Callington Santa Fun Run in aid of CHICKS and the town’s Christmas Craft Market, and two pages of pictures from Looe Lights Up.

We also have a 12-page Countdown to Christmas pull-out.

We also have lots of your community news and pictures and regular columns such as Ray Roberts’ Nature Watch, your Letters, TV Choice and the latest Books

This week’s editions also have Farming, Leisure, Property and Motoring sections.

There are also 11 pages of Sport with content tailored to the three editions.

Find all of this and more in this week’s Cornish Times editions, in shops from today (Friday).
